As we transition from 2021 to 2022, we continue to learn how to remain nimble, flexible and resilient in the face of many challenges and difficulties for us to overcome in our personal and professional lives. Our board of directors last year pivoted in preparation for our November 18 All Industry Day. We were planning for an in-person event yet felt a responsibility to turn to a virtual session. We are grateful to Brent Hammer, CPCU, CPA, MBA, Innovation Officer at Grange Insurance and Kyle Krumlauf, CPCU, ARM, Innovation Consultant at Grange Insurance who presented an interesting CE course on InsurTech: Accelerating the Insurance Evolution. We thank George Krauss for his diligence and work product in securing continuing education approval from the Pennsylvania Department of Insurance. Since we do have members from West Virginia and other states, our chapter will be considering gaining CE approval for PA, WV and possibly OH for future events. We welcomed 15 new designees that day as well. Congratulations to each and every one of you! Your decision to investment in your education and life’s experiences should prove beneficial to you in your career for years to come. It is our hope that each new and existing member of our local CPCU chapter will consider volunteering for service and/or participate in our events planned for this new year. After all, networking is a significant skill-set beyond the books and daily work activities we all enjoy.
We thank Sally Krauss for another year of service as Past President! Her leadership and experience continue to be a tremendous foundation for our local chapter. We continue to thank Marilyn Wood for her role as our Webmaster! Sang Hong and Mike Mayer will continue to serve our chapter; and, we welcome Rick Gercak, CPCU, CIC as a member of our Board of Directors. Your board met recently to discuss events in store for 2022.
