Happy 2017 everybody! It is almost the end of
January and we really haven’t had much bad weather. Hopefully, we will ease into Spring and before we know it—it will be opening day at PNC Park!
This past year was a very good year for our chapter! We added 24 new designees to our roster, had a very successful Golf outing, a successful All Industry Day, and elected a young, energetic group of officers! Many thanks to you, our membership, for your support and participation.
I would like to thank the key individuals who contributed to our Chapter success in 2016 and who will continue to contribute to our continued success in 2017. Lauren Powers‐‐‐Immediate Past President of our Chapter, Stephanie Brett‐‐‐our President‐elect and coordinator of our 2016 golf outing. Mike Mayer ‐‐ Vice President, for his dedication and commitment over the last two years as Treasurer of the Chapter, Christine Cuddy‐‐‐ for assuming the roles of Secretary AND Treasurer for the Chapter for 2017. Of course we can’t forget Sally Ann Krauss‐‐ Past President and Director for our chapter, Marilyn Wood‐‐our Webmaster, Kelly Maines, ‐ Past President and golf outing consultant, and George Krauss, All Industry Day consultant. They are always willing to help with their valuable advice and experience.
In 2017 I hope to engage all the membership, and potential members, to participate in the Chapter events. I have a particular focus on the new designees becoming leaders and participants in our Chapter meetings, activities and events. The insurance and risk management industry is becoming older. As some of us proceed to the later stages of our carrers, there will be great opportunities for those who wish to make insurance and risk management their career. The activities and resources provided by the Allegheny Chapter of CPCU and the CPCU Society provide a great springboard for industry knowledge, networking, and just plain “having fun” with your peers. Please note the schedule of events in this issue of the Chaptergram!
In closing, we have a great group of officers representing you this year. Don’t hesitate to call, email, or text us with your suggestions or opinions.
I hope to hear from you AND see you at our events and meetings!
Here’s to Spring!
