Hello, everyone. It’s hard to believe we are approaching the holiday season! When I reflect on the past year and the Allegheny Chapter Society CPCU specifically, I am proud of all that we have accomplished:
In February, we were once again a sponsor of the Business Ethics Awards Luncheon, in conjunction with the Society of Financial Service Professionals (SFSP). This is an important event that recognizes those local employers who commit to high ethical standards.
Our March luncheon meeting featured guest speaker Dennis Beecher from Interstate Management, who educated us on the issues faced by the trucking industry.
Each April, our chapter partners with the Pittsburgh Chapter of RIMS (Risk and Insurance Management Society) in providing an educational event. 2015’s meeting did not disappoint, as our featured speakers provided cutting edge information relative to Cyber trends.
It’s always nice to hold a “social” for our members to get to know one-another, and in June our members enjoyed classic German fare and drinks at the Hofbrau Haus in the Southside.
Our Annual Golf Outing in August was once again a success! This was our 20th Annual Golf Outing held at Meadowink. A special thank you to Al Vaina, who organized the event and Kelly Maines for her assistance in making the event a success. And…. Thank you, former chapter member Beck Duckworth, who started it all twenty years ago!
While I look forward to our annual Christmas Luncheon this year (December 16, 2015 – Grand Concourse), I do so with gratitude for the officers for their assistance this year, and to our members who continue to support our events. My year as President has been very gratifying and I am excited to see what the officers have planned for next year.
I encourage all of you to get involved – take advantage of all that CPCU membership has to offer!
